Cricket vs Baseball. Which is bigger?
Much confusion exists over which sport has the biggest ball, cricket or baseball.
This confusion is well founded because of the different sizes of ball used in the various competitions of baseball and the changes in size over the years.
This webpage was established to help settle any bets people may have over which has the biggest balls.
Cricket ball size too has changed over the years but now has an official standard of construction. The British Standard BS 5993:1994. It specifies that a cricket ball must not have a diameter greater than 7.29cm and no smaller than 7.13cm.
Umpires carry a Go-No-Go guage in their pocket to check the legality of all ball before play and which can also be used to check the ball throughout the match to determine if it has gone out of shape.
All international parties accept these standards as the official size of a cricket ball.

Cricket
Cricket ball size too has changed over the years but now has an official standard of construction. The British Standard BS 5993:1994. It specifies that a cricket ball must not have a diameter greater than 7.29cm and no smaller than 7.13cm.

Baseball
Baseball is a little bit trickier. It has no single standard. Some claim than the Major League Baseball standard is the true size which states the ball must be at least 7.264cm in diameter and a maximum of 7.468cm.
However the International Standard size baseball used in the Olympics, Japans Nippon Major League and all other countries leagues is 7.105cm to 7.209cm.
Considering this is an international standard accepted by all Olympic organisations and every other country other than the USA, it is fair to say this is the official internationally recognized size of a baseball.
Conclusion
Obviously this is a contentious issue, but it is clear that the USA alone cannot be the definition of the official baseball sizing. International standards are what should be used, and crickets standard has been accepted by all playing parties.
Therefor it is clear that Cricket balls are slightly larger than Baseball's by the smallest of margins.
I hope this settles any arguments on the matter.

The size of the baseball also depends on whether the game was played in the Northern or Southern Hemispheres too. This accounts for the rotational spin of the curve ball.
